Providing Safe and Nurturing Accommodation
HTR Supported Accommodation provides safe, secure, and nurturing living environments for young people aged 16 to 21, including Looked After Children, Care Leavers, and Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children (UASCs). We understand that leaving care or arriving in a new country can be an overwhelming and uncertain time, which is why we prioritise physical safety, emotional security, and a genuine sense of belonging. Each of our homes is carefully selected and maintained to meet high standards of comfort, cleanliness, and safeguarding. Young people have their own private bedroom while sharing communal spaces such as kitchens, lounges, and gardens, encouraging social interaction and the development of healthy relationships. Our nurturing approach means that every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and patience. We create a warm, family‑like atmosphere where young people feel listened to, valued, and supported to express their feelings without fear of judgment. Beyond just a roof over their heads, we offer stability and consistency – two things that are often missing from the lives of the young people we support. By providing a truly safe and nurturing environment, we help them heal from past trauma, build self‑esteem, and lay the foundation for a positive future.
Strategic and Accessible Locations
Our accommodation facilities are strategically located near schools, colleges, transport links, and essential community resources such as health centres, libraries, job centres, and leisure facilities. We understand that a young person’s ability to access education, employment, and social opportunities is critical to their successful transition into independent living. Therefore, we choose properties in well‑connected neighbourhoods across London and surrounding areas, ensuring that bus stops, train stations, and underground lines are within easy walking distance. This proximity reduces travel time and costs, making it simpler for young people to attend college or training courses, attend job interviews, keep medical appointments, and meet with social workers or personal advisors. Being close to community resources also encourages young people to engage with local services, build social networks, and feel part of a wider community rather than isolated. Wherever possible, we locate our homes in low‑crime, residential areas with good amenities, parks, and recreational spaces, promoting a healthy, active, and integrated lifestyle. Strategic location is not just about convenience – it is a deliberate tool for fostering independence, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Highly Trained and Experienced Staff
The team at HTR Supported Accommodation consists of experienced professionals who have undergone rigorous training and continuous professional development to meet the complex needs of vulnerable young people. Our staff are trained in conflict management and de‑escalation techniques, therapeutic and emotional support, health and safety awareness, and safeguarding for both children and adults. Many of our team members have backgrounds in social care, youth work, psychology, or nursing, bringing a wealth of practical knowledge to their daily interactions. We also provide specialist training in trauma‑informed care, attachment theory, and supporting young people with challenging behaviour or mental health difficulties. Our staff understand that every young person has a unique story, and they take time to build trusting, respectful relationships based on empathy and consistency. They are skilled at recognising signs of distress, self‑harm, or exploitation, and they act swiftly to safeguard young people while involving the appropriate authorities. Beyond their technical skills, our staff are compassionate, patient, and genuinely committed to helping young people succeed. They act as positive role models, mentors, and advocates, ensuring that each resident receives not only supervision but also guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear whenever needed.
24/7 Supervision and Digital Monitoring
We provide round‑the‑clock supervision and support to ensure the safety and well‑being of every young person in our care, 365 days a year. Our homes are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with waking night staff present to respond to any emergency, disturbance, or personal crisis that may arise during the night. This continuous presence gives young people the reassurance that help is always available, whether they need someone to talk to at 3am, assistance with a nightmare or anxiety attack, or support to get up on time for college the next morning. In addition to human supervision, we employ appropriate digital monitoring technologies to enhance safety without compromising privacy. This may include secure entry systems, motion sensors in communal areas, and monitored fire alarms. Where risk assessments indicate a need, we may also use bedroom door sensors (with full transparency and consent) to ensure that young people are safe and accounted for during the night. All digital monitoring is carried out in strict compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding best practice, and young people are fully informed about any monitoring in place. The combination of 24/7 staff presence and sensible digital tools allows us to create a safe, responsive environment while still respecting the growing independence and privacy of each young person.
Our Outcomes
We focus on measurable progress and positive trajectories for every young person in our care.
Supporting Education & Employment
“Arrived with limited English and no education placement. Through structured keywork using the GROW coaching model, staff supported MSR to enrol at a local college. His English improved significantly, and he developed daily independence skills including cooking, budgeting, and attending appointments independently. Stable placement with a positive trajectory toward independent living.”
Trauma-Informed Support & Progress
“Arrived with a significant trauma history and emotional dysregulation. Through consistent, relationship-based, trauma-informed support, professionals observed a measurable reduction in emotional outbursts over time. Re-engaged with education and made positive lifestyle changes. Staff maintained firm but empathetic boundaries while building trust.”
